Supplemental Instruction

Strength in numbers! Drop in on our SI sessions when you need help.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program based on peer-assisted study sessions. SI sessions are regularly-scheduled informal review sessions in which students compare class notes, discuss assigned readings, practice problem solving, develop organizational tools and predict test items. Participants learn how to integrate course content and study skills while working together. The main purpose of this program is to improve students’ grades and increase student graduation rates.

The sessions are facilitated by “SI leaders,” students who have previously taken the courses and have done well in them. SI Leaders follow course content on Canvas and will visit classes occasionally. Be on the lookout for information from them.
