About the Program
They engineer processes and systems that improve quality and productivity. They work to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, energy, and other commodities. Unlike many engineering careers which focus on very specific areas, industrial and systems engineers are a versatile group of experts who are trained to tackle a wide array of society’s problems.
You will learn how to design, develop, evaluate, improve, and operate integrated systems that produce or supply products or services in an effective, efficient, sustainable, and socially responsible manner.
During your studies, expect to develop extensive skills in mathematics, the physical and social sciences, and the core principles and methods of engineering analysis and design. And once you’ve completed this bachelor of science in engineering, you will be prepared to work in a range of fields including manufacturing, logistics, health systems, service systems, design, and ergonomics.
What will I Learn?
- An ability to design, analyze, operate, and improve integrated systems that produce or supply products or services in an effective, efficient, sustainable, and socially responsible manner
- An ability to define, synthesize, analyze, design, and evaluate complex systems containing hardware and software, and human elements, in a holistic manner across the lifecycle
- An ability to apply basic engineering sciences and design skills to real-world product and service system design problems by considering business perspectives
- An ability to develop deep expertise in productivity analysis, operations research, probability, statistics, engineering economy, human factors, and systems design and analysis
